THE PROCESS
The bespoke suiting process is a personalized tailoring experience that creates a custom suit uniquely crafted to fit an individual's style and body measurements. It involves selecting fabrics, customizing design elements, and undergoing several fittings over an 8-week period to ensure the suit is perfectly tailored. The entire process focuses on precision and personal input, offering a garment that is distinctively made for the wearer.
Bespoke Suits, Tuxedos & Blazers
Week 1: Consultation (duration: 1 hour 15 minutes)
In-depth discussion with the client to understand their preferences and requirements. Selection of fabric, lining, and buttons. Design decisions on garment features such as lapel style, pocket type, and overall fit are made. Measurements are taken during this session.
Week 2: Measurements & Pattern Creation
Detailed body measurements are taken to ensure accuracy. The tailor uses these measurements to create a unique paper pattern for the suit, which will serve as a blueprint for the entire tailoring process.
Week 3: Skeleton Cutting
Dummy fabric is cut based on the pattern creation. This is a process to ensure each part of the suit matches the intended fit and style. The garment creates mock lapels, button hole placements and armholes.
Week 4: Skeleton Fitting (duration: 30 minutes)
A roughly stitched version of the suit, called a “skeleton,” is assembled for the first fitting. The client tries on this initial version, which allows the tailor to make adjustments in fit, posture, and balance. This step ensures that any major changes are identified and correct before the final creation of the suit.
Week 5: Pattern Adjustments
Based on the skeleton fitting, the tailor makes adjustments to the pattern and final fabric pieces. The suit is adjusted and fine-tuned to incorporate any necessary changes to fit and look perfect.
Week 6: Mid-Fitting (duration: 30 minutes)
The client tries on a complete version of the suit, which has been structured with the final fabric, lining and buttons. The fitting focuses on fine-tuning the drape and fit of the suit.
Week 7: Finishing & Detailing
Any adjustments necessary to be incorporated from the mid-fitting are done to perfect the garment.
Week 8: Final Fitting & Delivery
The client has a final fitting, where the suit is checked for any minor adjustments. Once approved, the suit is pressed and delivered. The client can expect a fully personalized, perfectly fitted bespoke garment ready to wear.
